live type is the software we use to create the title sequence for our film. live type allows users to create the style of text they want for any specific film they are producing, this could be thriller, comedy, action etc... for thrillers there is a huge amount of animations and graphic available which are meant to scare and and astonish the audience, the titles can come up with many different animations attached to them, this could be a smoke trail, blood trail etc... the text could be manipulated into what you want for your film and could be made to match a certain clip. another crucial software needed to create suspense is the sound, for our film project we will use soundtrack pro, this software has different sounds which could be combined together to create a specific sound, this sound could be changed in a variety of ways, this could be the length of the sound to the pitch and many more. the software was easy to use as it only needed the user to select certain sounds and merge them together to create the sound you want, mistakes can be easily erased and fixed to your satisfaction

skills audit: creation of titles

for our films we used live type pro to present to the audience the title of our film, the cast, director, producer etc... the way the titles are shown on screen is crucial in the build up of the suspense, the timing needs to be accurate as the titles need to be simultaneously presented with the soundtrack e.g. the titles have to come up with a loud church bell noise which would be part of the soundtrack. the titles we used were bold and white with a thick red exterior/ glow behind it, the titles had animation attached to which would make the titles flicker on screen like some alien film, these flickering titles would bring thrills to the audience as the titles are followed by a loud church bell noise, the titles would come up when in the clip the actor is doing something dramatic, i.e. single handedly jumping over a fence.

skills audit- creation of soundtrack

to create the soundtrack for our film we decided to add a up beat rhythm, this was because we were filming someone running away from something and an upbeat background soundtrack will magnify the amount of suspense the audience will be introduced to, the sound is the most crucial criteria of the project, if the sound doesn't match the film then the film wont be all that good, our sound needs to match our characters movements, if the character is in trouble the music is meant to increase thus frightening the audience and drawing them into suspense and the illusion that is meant to frighten them and confuse them. the sound needs to cut of or quiet down when the actor is on the phone to the police.

1st Day Filming..

On 3rd we starting filming as we planned. The weather was perfect for what we aimed for..however it was Rather cold so we all had freezing fingers and feet at the end of filming. Although it was worth it for the fact that We stayed filming for at least 4hours and we managed to complete most the shots what we needed to make our thriller opening, We got high shots, low shots, went through trees, tried a Ariel shot what kind of worked and thanks to Fabian we had our runner :) we knew we would have to Ree-shot some shots again and after watching the clips back we would have to come back and do more to make the sequence go together.

I Enjoyed our first day of filming and me and our group were proud of what we had done within our first 4hours filming, and i am sure Fabian was only one who kept warm from all his running :)

Pitch

As a group, Me, Holly, Luke, Era And Fabian had to pitch our presentation. We come up with the name 'On The Run' Due to ideas we had produced and put together. We had to do this in front of both the teachers and the class. The teachers Annabell & Mike told us what they thought was good and bad about our ideas and if they thought it would work well. We had lots of positive feed back but also got told what they thought wouldn't work. We got told to make this work we would need to get a great variety of shots and not just 60/70 over 100 it sounded a lot at first but when we thought about it, we knew it would be the only way for it to work . At first we wanted to do a Ariel shot however we said to use a ladder but we got told that wouldn't work was a silly idea anyways, safety hazard and all that :)
