Experimenting With LiveType!
I Have been experimenting with different fonts, backgrounds, fonts and colors for out title 'On The Run' Due to the fact i had spare time in lesson because we couldnt do recording because of weather conditions.

i Inserted the picture below what Shows what i come up with during that lesson. its nothing what it would finally look like, i think this is just something i decided i would do just to get used to working with 'LiveType'.

I Know this will look nothing like what our final title will look like because it looks a bit to bubbly than should be and wouldn't fit with our theme however we all had a go to make our own titles just to get used to using the program.

Location shots
The location we chose to film in was the Regents Canal, this was because the canal had two footpaths, this is good because we can get a wide variety of shots for our film project. The canal has a magnificent landscape which will look good on camera, the canal also has a ghetto feel about it, the walls are filled with graffiti and also adding tho the suspense the canal is quite empty, hardly anyone is there which is perfect for our filming, this is because people in the background would destroy the suspense
Final edit of livetype and sound filming practice
live type is the software we use to create the title sequence for our film. live type allows users to create the style of text they want for any specific film they are producing, this could be thriller, comedy, action etc... for thrillers there is a huge amount of animations and graphic available which are meant to scare and and astonish the audience, the titles can come up with many different animations attached to them, this could be a smoke trail, blood trail etc... the text could be manipulated into what you want for your film and could be made to match a certain clip. another crucial software needed to create suspense is the sound, for our film project we will use soundtrack pro, this software has different sounds which could be combined together to create a specific sound, this sound could be changed in a variety of ways, this could be the length of the sound to the pitch and many more. the software was easy to use as it only needed the user to select certain sounds and merge them together to create the sound you want, mistakes can be easily erased and fixed to your satisfaction
skills audit: creation of titles
for our films we used live type pro to present to the audience the title of our film, the cast, director, producer etc... the way the titles are shown on screen is crucial in the build up of the suspense, the timing needs to be accurate as the titles need to be simultaneously presented with the soundtrack e.g. the titles have to come up with a loud church bell noise which would be part of the soundtrack. the titles we used were bold and white with a thick red exterior/ glow behind it, the titles had animation attached to which would make the titles flicker on screen like some alien film, these flickering titles would bring thrills to the audience as the titles are followed by a loud church bell noise, the titles would come up when in the clip the actor is doing something dramatic, i.e. single handedly jumping over a fence.

skills audit- creation of soundtrack
to create the soundtrack for our film we decided to add a up beat rhythm, this was because we were filming someone running away from something and an upbeat background soundtrack will magnify the amount of suspense the audience will be introduced to, the sound is the most crucial criteria of the project, if the sound doesn't match the film then the film wont be all that good, our sound needs to match our characters movements, if the character is in trouble the music is meant to increase thus frightening the audience and drawing them into suspense and the illusion that is meant to frighten them and confuse them. the sound needs to cut of or quiet down when the actor is on the phone to the police.

1st Day Filming..
On 3rd we starting filming as we planned. The weather was perfect for what we aimed for..however it was Rather cold so we all had freezing fingers and feet at the end of filming. Although it was worth it for the fact that We stayed filming for at least 4hours and we managed to complete most the shots what we needed to make our thriller opening, We got high shots, low shots, went through trees, tried a Ariel shot what kind of worked and thanks to Fabian we had our runner :) we knew we would have to Ree-shot some shots again and after watching the clips back we would have to come back and do more to make the sequence go together.
Pitch

As a group, Me, Holly, Luke, Era And Fabian had to pitch our presentation. We come up with the name 'On The Run' Due to ideas we had produced and put together. We had to do this in front of both the teachers and the class. The teachers Annabell & Mike told us what they thought was good and bad about our ideas and if they thought it would work well. We had lots of positive feed back but also got told what they thought wouldn't work. We got told to make this work we would need to get a great variety of shots and not just 60/70 over 100 it sounded a lot at first but when we thought about it, we knew it would be the only way for it to work . At first we wanted to do a Ariel shot however we said to use a ladder but we got told that wouldn't work was a silly idea anyways, safety hazard and all that :)
Pitch
How is suspense created in 'Dawn of the dead'
Suspense is created in many ways in Dawn of the Dead, for starters the titles themselves are quite thrilling. At the beginning of the clip there are small thrilling pop ups of certain horrific parts of the film, this gives the audience a hint of the goings on and intrigues them. The heartbeat that is featured near the start is very intense and
creation of soundtrack
Today i was making the backing track to our clip 'on the run' i had a lot of fun playing around with the sounds and making a tense and thrilling track i found it much easier to use the program this time round.
The picture below shows how we made the sounds louder or quieter than one another and it was very effective, it made the track sound much more thrilling because the sounds that sounded more effective were louder and the ones that added that extra tension were a bit quieter , i added bell sounds for that little bit of than edge.
The picture below is a screen shot of some of the sounds that we used which sound very well and fit in completely with our clip
analysis of 9 shots from art of the title sequence

The style of the titles themselves are shown drenched in blood, they appear in a normal san serif text then blood appears to sweep the text away as if someone blowing through a straw. the sequences are shown after a slight glance of the zombies, this timing makes the the title sequence look more thrilling as the audience will not know what might might pop up after the text has shown. the style of the title is set up by the importance of the letters, 'Dawn and Dead" are shown in big bold letters which indicates what the film is about, down indicates dark and dead creates suspense and thriller

First day of filming
Our first day of filming was, i feel, a huge success.
In 4 hours we were able to get a lot of footage filmed to flesh out our whole film in rough on friday ( the 5th ) as per our production schedule, with very few problems save our fingers being too cold to pack away the equipment at the end! We were really happy with the weather conditions, the solid cloudy sky meant there was plenty of light without us worrying about the atmosphere being overly bright and providing us with a lower chance of producing continuity errors next time we film, since it's the season for cloudy weather.
I enjoyed filming and from panning through trees to high angles over bridges, between us we got a variety of great shots! Well done team :)

Storyboard

As a group we developed this story board. We sat down as a group and disgusted how we wanted the story to unfold. Along side the frame is the notes of what we disgusted and come up with. Holly kindly drew up the story board for the group : ) On the notes it included the specific shot types and the other important effects we decided we wanted to use. Some of the things we have wrote in the story board may not have been what we did for the actual opening thriller however where slightly the same such as the 'puddle' splash instead we did the phone being thrown into the canal and that splash.

Storyboard

After spending time together as a group developing our ideas and discussing how we want the story to unfold, talking about some of the techniques we want to use, i drew up this storyboard. I included notes along side the frame mentioning specific shot types and other important effects we wanted to achieve, however we will have to allow for changes during filming. It wasn't practical to draw out all the shot's we want to achieve but it should give you an impression of what we're aiming for!

Art Of The Title Sequence

i have choosen to look at 'Coraline'. The images caught my attention. it looks a little creepy and unstable. You can tell something is not right by the images on this sequence and the way the doll is being used. At the start the titles are bold lettering what looks asif the writting is field with loads of stitching from cotten. The way the titles flash out to the next one is effective. And the music starts kicking in. When the button flies in it shows effect to the sequence this you can tell is a important part to it. Due to the zoom on this button and the way it lands. More names appear and the sound starts getting a little more echoey as the names are flashing up. Once the screen goes black and we see the doll turning and flying in we then see some sort of hands pulling the doll towards the camera we start to wonder whats going on. More titles appear as the doll is being taken to a table where its then places onto some sort of fold out sewing kit. The sequence uses a extream zoom on the pin and the dolls back. Then we see some scissors cutting up the back of the doll and hear the cutting sound this shows a effect on the sequence and made me wonder what is happening to this doll. The pin hand starts undewing all the hair on the doll which at this time i started wondering why it was re-doing this doll up the way it was and why the pins where in shape of a pair of hands.Once again the camera goes for a extreme zoom on undewing the stitching and shows the little bits of cotton left on the dolls head. When the doll get turned upside down and turned inside out i was at first a little freeked, In the background you can hear in the music a little girl singing. with the slow motion effect on the doll being stitched up adds effect aswell. A Big draw of buttons come out and i from that know that it has to be a important part of the doll because the hand takes ages to decide what button to chose. we once again see a extream close up on the buttons being stitched onto the eyes. Once the machian finishes stitching the doll up we see it fly back out the window this shows me that the doll has had a massive change and that the buttons obviously play a important part in this film. When window shuts and we see a house i think that something bad will happen to do with this doll and the house that we see at the end of the sequence.
The information that we see within the sequence includeds is things such as the The cast, costume designers, editors But the final text ends with the information of who directed 'coraline'. All the times the text come in at the start is the same with a black background fading into the writting however as the sequence goes on the text is white and on the side of the picture of the doll being recked then re-stitched.
