Evaluation 7

Looking back at your preliminary task, what have you learned in the progression from it to the full product?

Looking back at my preliminary match cut task i have seen that many of my skills in filming have improved, this is due to the different shot angles, my match cut task has a variety of shots at different angles, the match cut product was about a pupil who was called in by his teacher for numerous absences, the genres of the two different products were different as the full product was a thriller whilst the match cut product was more of a school type of genre.
The clips that helped us make the final product from the match cut product were the shots of the feet, at the end of the final product we see the feet of the criminal, this shot was taken straight from the match cut task, the pictures bellow show this comparison of the two clips. from the clips below we see that the images differ in many ways, the picture on the left shows two people standing still, the picture on the right from the match cut shown a single person walking past the camera. the quality of the images are are clear as walking past the camera creates a blur and doesn't look professional, from the mistakes learned in our match cut we manipulated our official product so that the scene looks more thrilling, the background of the two shots differ thus creating suspense.

Match cuts have been implemented from the preliminary task, the match cuts in our official product have been made more dramatic by introducing slow motion and thrilling actions i.e. jumping over a gate. the image on the left is from the preliminary task and from the image you can see that it is plain and very unprofessional. The official task's match cut ends with a long shot of the actor jumping over the barrier, whilst he is doing this the titles come up on the wall behind him. From the images you can see that there has been massive progress in the differences in match cuts.
