Evaluation Question 2

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Our media film mainly targets teenage boys or maybe even young adults as we are unsure of the characters age group. As you can see from the picture above our main character is dressed similar to the boys in the picture, we made sure that he wore a hoodie to emphasise the idea of a troublesome teenage boy. It specifically stereotypes teenagers as troublesome via the character running away in a hoodie. The hoodie represents a lot of things such as violence and gang related activity although he seems to be alone.

You could compare our character to ‘Sam Peel’ out of Adulthood, although the audience are unsure of our character has particularly done his appearance and behaviour is very similar to the character in Adulthood. In certain parts of the clip we see both the characters running in their hoodie’s, the hoodie gives the characters their personalities. The title 'On the run' also relates to the film Adulthood as their main character is also a victim as is ours.
