EVALUATION: Question 2

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

The social group our media product was looking at was young boys/young adults in a urban area. Most teenagers are seen as doing something wrong and being labeled from what other teenagers around them do. Stereotyping is what happens everywhere and mainly in films we see this. We had used a teenager running away from somebody we don't see who is following him or give any idea why he is or where he is running to however we soon see he is being chased/followed by the ending when we see feet creeping behind him or right at the end with the reflection of both the him and a un-known figure in the reflection in the canal water.

Our main prop was the 'hoodie' that our main character had on, just by this it had suggested he was either related to some sort of gang or crime. The hoodie symbolizes the fact that he could be related to a gang however that is
just the stereotypical thing about this because the whole time our character seems to feel alone we can tell by his facial expressions,And then he has a call for help but nobody is there and he is left by him self which then shows how vulnerable he really was. We manage to challenge this stereotype by making the viewer ask them self is he on the run from something his done (The criminal) Or is he just trying get away to save himself (The innocent One).
