From the start of our course until now i feel as though i have progressed thoroughly throughout the process and i feel that i can product a media product without much difficulty. Writing about other films and describing their use of camera work, MES and sound helped me learn the codes and conventions used in professional texts and it helped my group and I gather ideas for our film.

I have learnt how to use camera angles correctly and effectively such as over the shoulder shots, long shots, birds eye view, establishing shot and many more. i believe i have used the majority of these throughout my title sequence. From our preliminary film to our actual piece me and my group have improved a lot, in our preliminary we did not use any close up shots which would of been very effective and we learnt from our mistakes and added them in to our actual piece.

Our preliminary was very useful as it allowed us to experiment with shots and look back on and see where we went wrong so we could improve it. We planned our final piece carefully making sure that we noted all the shots we planned on using such as long shots, close ups, some tracking and many more. We changed some of our shots as we did not think they looked as good as we thought they would. It did not take us long to plan our preliminary as we just wanted to get an insight on how it was done and we were not to bothered about it that much to make it perfect as we still has much to learn.

It took us a while to figure out where we wanted to shoot our film, our first idea was Tottenham and Hackney as they are quite rough areas and it would look perfect for our film, but as others from the group found it difficult to get there. We changed it to a more convenient place such as Regents canal. The area looked great for our film and it worked well for the MES such as the tunnels, the graffitti on the walls and the woody and leafy area. We chose to start filming on a day when it was not too sunny but not to dull either, and when we continued filming on a different day the weather was the same, which was a big coincidence. For our preliminary we did not have much time to plan it so the MES was largely ignored, for our title sequence we had plenty of time to find a place and change our minds about it.

We chose to make our music upbeat and tense in our piece, we constantly kept changing the beat until we found a prefect one that fit all the scenes. Our preliminary did not consist on any sound apart from voices as yet again we did not have much planning time and also we were not fully confident on using livetype. After some play arounds with it we finally got the hang of it completely and managed to produce a really effective soundtrack. Our preliminary would of been much better with sound included and would of added more suspense. The music was not really planned, we just changed it as we went along and as our film progressed.
Although i have gotten a grip with the editting i feel as though others in my group are much more comfortable doing the editting as i was more focused on doing the soundtrack.
